Hello all. I was reading through some of the forum topics and it seems as though every topic pretty much relates to Twilight. LoL. Now don't get me wrong i am a die hard Twilight fan, but I've been doing some research on the Quileute tribe (which i found out about throuh twilight) and they are very intriguing people. I am fascinated by their legends and folklore so i was just wondering what is your favorite Quileute legend?

Are the “Cold Ones” from Twilight a real Quileute legend?

No. There are no Quileute legends about “Cold Ones” or other vampires. Stephenie Meyer, the author of the “Twilight” books, has stated that she made this fictional vampire legend up herself and only had her Quileute character tell it for the purposes of her plot. However, she did base other parts of her books on real Quileute mythology. For example, it is true that according to legend the Quileute tribe is descended from wolves who were changed into men. Even the tribal name “Quileute” comes from their word for wolf, Kwoli.

Hope I helped because I came to this site looking for Quileute stories and past times, and all I hear about is Twilight! I mean I do love Twilight and all!

i agree on that note, it is a great movie but seems hard to get people off the topic and into the folk lore.
