Quileute Legend

Quileute Legend

Native American Quileute legend suggests that they are descended of wolves.  According to legend, a being known alternately as Dokibatt, K’wa’iti, the Trickster, the Transformer and The Changer (with the latter three titles at times embodying the previous two names) created the first Quileute from a wolf that he stumbled upon during his journeys. Dokibatt the Changer, or Transformer, who looms heavy in Pacific Northwest coastal mythology. Originally there were six native societies: for the fisherman, the elk hunter, the whale hunter, the weather predictor, the medicine man, and the warrior (the latter society performed the wolf dance).

Writer Stephenie Meyer would later make minor utilization of the de facto Quileute legends while making her Twilight Saga

In the second book, New Moon, Jacob finds that he, himself, is a werewolf. He, along with many of his Quileute ‘brothers’ are pledged to protect La Push from their sworn enemies,  The Cold Ones. Many years ago, they forged a pact with the vampires, which forbidden the Cullens from trespassing on their lands, and granted the two groups to live in the same vicinity in relative peace.  This treaty hinged upon the necessity that the Cullens never feed upon human blood.

“What are the cold ones?”
He smiled darkly.
“Blood drinkers,” he replied in a chilling voice. “Your people call them
vampires.”

  • ZAID says:

THERE R NO SUCH THINGS LIKE VAMPIRES.
A DISEASE CALLED AS PORPHYRIA HAVE SAME SYMPTOMS.
BUT VAMPIRES DONT EXIST. ITS JUST A MYTH.
    MUTANTS MAY EXIST.

  • ve says:

yeah well think…how did the ‘myths’ start:
    Because there was one!
Porphyria’s symtems are: urine colour change, skin problems and such. nothing like vampires…

  • TaraCullen0620 says:

Alright. My name is Tara and I have been reading all of your comments with a great amount of interest. I have been researching vampires for a long time now, a lot of my resources are phony but some are very promising. I have discovered that there is a way to turn yourself into a vampire. If you keep up a steady diet of blood of any kind, then things start to change. I don’t sleep after I even taste a little of it. And my eye color has become noticeably lighter than it was before and the iris of my eyes is rimmed black. You can live for a very long time on just a steady diet of it. Soon you will become faster, stronger, and more like a true vampire. They do exist, they are out there, and it will be easy to actually find a true one. I believe in this more than anyone ever has before, and @Observer, you cannot trash my beliefs.
    -Tara

    Shadowrider,

Can I just clarify the fact that you actually a vampire, or are you just a 40 year old internet groomer trying to prey on young Robert Patterson fans? If you are a vampire may I email you as I have some interesting theories on the matter.

I totally agree with your point there. I have some spare time between exam’s and studying and I love the Idea of becoming immortal. Some stories have some truth to them and some are just a hell of an amount of CRAP. If its the rare steaks your eating, you may have some form of salmonella poisoning or food poisoning as human bodies aren’t used to eating raw meats, apart from fish. That may be causing the change of color in your iris. As for believing in vampires or being a vampire, – Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

  • ve says:

I get the theory but won’t it just make humans want to throw up, because of the taste…

  • keyy love vampire says:

But I love the taste of blood,But it’s not like i like them so much to the point that I’m craving for more. But I don’t hate the taste like what you said, ve.Even though I am a human my self.

  • [...] For thousands of years before the written word was invented humans have told stories. The tribal storyteller held a position of honour in every society, because storytelling was intrinsically linked with the tribe’s history, culture and belief structure. Stories covered events of importance to daily life – successful hunts, great battles (usually victories – winners get to write history after all), and the reason behind why all the local beefcakes are werewolves.
